Water Conveyance Structures

Central Arizona Project, U.S.A.
Central Arizona Project looks after a 330 mile long system of concrete lined canals, inverted siphons, tunnels, pumping plants, and pipe lines which bring water from the Colorado River, on Arizona’s western border, across the state to the canal terminus at Tuscon.

RNT Consulting Inc. examined the western leg of the system. The inspection included the Mark Wilmer Plant located on Lake Havasu, the re-lift pumping station located 25 miles downstream from Mark Wilmer at Bouse Hills, some typical structures on the aquaduct such as float wells, wheel gates, turn outs for a re-charge area, and associated instrumentation. The inspection concluded at the Waddell Pump-Generating Plant on Lake Pleasant.
